I will keep recycling and try to cut down on the auonmt I print or copy, switch lights off when necessary, and monitors off (as I tend to forget when switching off my computer), switch copiers off when they are not being used.

No we do not have a system that shows mrtnoes available eventually we will show how many starter topics we have available, but matching between applicants and mrtnoes are done on a case by case basis and we are probably not going to put up names of Mentors available for what topic. The idea behind the Calligra Academy programme is to:a) be a clear way into the Calligra projects for people who want to contribute long-term (primarily for people who have finished uni since students already have a way in through Google Summer of Code and Google Code-in)b) provide a clear point of application and a sensible process for doing so.c) work as a proxy between the Mentors and ApplicantsWe are still working on launching the trial run of the programme so clearly it will take some time to get all these things right. You will however soon be able to see what programmes are ongoing (we have about 8 tracks running so far we are just making descriptions for them at the moment).

Kevin points to a good stgraety: leverage state and federal incentives that drive investments in both areas, thereby benefitting the environment as a multiple of capital investments (efficiency improvements) and expenses (utility costs). Good discussion!

I'm doing the best I can as a part-time Eco-Champion: walking up the strias; bringing my own lunch so I know where my food has come from and it comes in a re-useable container; turning off the lights/monitors/printers; saving scrap paper and envelopes to use again. A little bit of that make do and mend' attitude will get us a long way I think.

Last night at the Eco Tuesday meet-up in Silicon Valley I heard about a community oerinted project where people can either volunteer to conduct or receive a free 2 1/2 hour home energy audit and identify simple steps to reduce energy consumption. mostly behavior changes or modest (~$50) modifications. "Green at Home" is just in the Bay Area for now, but it's such a simple, elegant concept to educate volunteers and recipients that I can see how this could easily and quickly expand.
